Surgery Process

Dr. Spitz will evaluate all patients and provide his assistant with the surgery order. At this moment you will be contacted with available surgery dates. Once your surgery is scheduled, you will receive a surgery packet that includes the procedure location address, pre-operative and post-operative instructions, and a list of blood thinners that must be stopped prior to surgery.

For all vasectomy reversals, we will develop the lab orders for basic pre-operative testing (CBC, CMP, and urine culture). If you will also be undergoing cryopreservation, we will create the lab order for the Infectious Disease Panel.

For any TESE or microdissection procedures, we will contact the fertility clinic to coordinate care and schedule specimen transportation with a carrier, typically FCC.
